Festival food trucks serve up multicultural flavours

Vancouver’s famous street food is a main attraction at the 2017 Concord Pacific Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival, where popular food trucks are serving up an array of international favourites.

Follow the aroma of frying onions to Mr. Tube Steak where you can heap them on a grilled gourmet hot dog. Enjoy a prime taste of summer with buttery corn on the cob from JJ’s Hot Cobs. At Rotato Express, discover why people line up for a deep-fried swirl of potatoes on a stick. Insomniacs Coffee will be on hand serving up the Pacific Northwest’s favourite brew, hot and dark-roasted.

Enjoy fresh fruit smoothies and Caribbean cuisine at Jamaican Mi Juicy. Popular Asian fare includes spicy Thai tacos at Thai On The Fly, steak Teriyaki and prawn Udon at Teriyaki Express, and BBQ pork buns and pan-fried dumplings from Dim Sum Express.

This Little Piggy brings a Portuguese twist to the festival with taquitos, nachos and its own special surf ‘n’ turf sandwich. Greek salad, pita and tzatziki are the sides piled on with chicken, beef or lamb donairs made on-site by Smoking Hot Donairs.

For dessert, make your way to Portobello West Market, set up during the festival at the Creekside Community Centre, where the city’s chocolatiers and bakers are selling local artisan sweets.
