Meet our Partners: BigSteelBox

Thanks to generous sponsors, partners, and donors, the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival is celebrating its 30^th anniversary this year as Vancouver’s longest running and largest outdoor summer festival.

 The festival’s Senior Manager, Marketing, Sponsorship and Development, Alexis Gall, calculates that almost 60 percent of the event’s costs are covered by community partners. She confirms, “We owe our long-time success to our enthusiastic partners, who provide everything from funding and equipment to valuable services and expertise.”

BigSteelBox has been a supporter of the annual Dragon Boat Festival for nearly a decade. The company provides much-needed on-site storage for the duration of the three-day festival. Its giant steel containers have been put to creative use in the past as a platform for entertainment and judging. Several boxes stay on-site in False Creek year-round to safely store equipment and supplies for festival organizers.

BigSteelBox Director of Operations Brian Hawkins is proud of the company’s enduring support for the festival. “BigSteelBox sponsors the annual Dragon Boat Festival because the partnership is a natural fit. We love being part of the communities in which we work and to support an organization that adds a ton of value to the community.”

In the past, BigSteelBox employees have staffed a display booth on-site, providing information and sharing the company’s story with festival-goers.

Hawkins adds, “Our employees enjoy getting out and interacting with the community. The Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society is such a great organization to partner with and we’re happy to support them in any way we can!”
