Whether you’re on the water year-round, or primarily to soak up the sun, we have a pass to line up with your season. OC-1 passes include a 2 hour slot/day, and access to paddles and PFD. All OC passholders must have completed and passed an orientation and huli drill at the Club prior to taking out boats. Passholders also enjoy exclusive passholder discounts on lessons and services. Inquire with our staff for additional information.
Reservations are required by midnight for slots up to 1 week out on our online reservation system; same day drop ins are generally not possible. Please carefully read all club policies and rules before heading out on the water.

All Access users also include those on accessibility teams.

Passholders must prove their eligibility for age-based rates on request; passes may be suspended/cancelled if eligibility cannot be provided. Junior and novice users must be supervised on the water as per our operating protocols unless otherwise advised in writing.
Novice and Nelo Boat Usage
All non-current or novice OC-1 passholders are required to complete at least 5 supervised sessions with an adult, fully approved, and qualified OC-1 passholder in good standing (passholders must be using Club equipment during time of supervision) or a Club approved familiarization and training program; then pass a test that may include a multiple choice test on proper boat usage or verbal questions to be allowed to book boats on their own using their pass.
Nelo users are required to complete a separate Nelo orientation that will be logged in the system to access the boats. The orientation is only offered to paddlers with comprehensive OC-1 experience (minimum 15 sessions in the past 3 months, plus the required 5 supervised sessions), and must be passed to allow passholders to access the Nelo fleet.
Note: One time drop in requests for paddlers from other clubs must be emailed to [email protected] ahead of time, and are reviewed regularly by staff. Please include details of your prior OC-1 experience, and details of your previous huli drill completion for verification. Note that requests are not guaranteed to be granted.

This orientation covers general OC-1 best practices, equipment care, instruction on completing a huli (boat capsize recovery), and going through at least two huli and recovery drills. Participants must pass the huli drill and orientation to use an OC-1. The orientation and drill is required for new paddlers to the Club, and anyone who has not held a pass at the Club for 3 or more months.
Participants will paddle for a short period during this program, and will be flipping the boat on False Creek multiple times during the huli drill. Program includes access to equipment during your drill including: PFD, paddle, and boat. Email [email protected] with your preferred times and dates to book an orientation/huli drill.
Huli drill and re-orientations are available at no charge for those who have completed an invoiced OC-1 Huli Drill and Orientation at the Club. Please email [email protected] with your preferred times and dates, and your original huli/orientation date and invoice information to book a huli re-orientation.
The Intro To OC-1 program teaches new and novice paddlers basic skills and techniques for paddling OC-1. The program includes safety knowledge, paddling drills to build up paddling capacity, technique tips, mini-workouts, and guided paddling sessions.
Paddlers do not need to know how to swim, but must wear an approved PFD. No experience is necessary. Minimum age 12. Youth aged 12-18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The program includes 5 sessions led by our OC instructor, access to equipment including a PFD and paddle, and access to the boats. The program includes an OC-1 boat orientation and huli drill, as part of your first session.
Sessions run once a week from 2:00PM-4:00PM. Please note that this does not give you access to the boats outside of your program slot times. General terms and conditions at the bottom of this page.
All OC-6 teams are subject to approval by the Club prior to beginning practices, and are required to complete an OC-6 team agreement form, OC-6 orientation, and have proof of a completed huli drill (within the last 2 years) prior to starting practices.
Note that due to OC-6 race timings, only the OC-6 Winter season will run from October until approximately the end of March (subject to change annually depending on local OC-6 race calendar). All other Winter season passes end at the end of February.
Returning teams: Please email [email protected] to request a holdover of your current slots. Slots will be released for general booking after October 1 annually.
